Billy Riggins (Derek Phillips) has made a lot of bad moves in his lifetime, but he eventually found the right path through fatherhood, coaching football – and a big-hearted younger brother, Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch), who served time in prison to give Billy a shot at redemption. Fans of Friday Night Lights may not want to walk a mile in Billy’s shoes, but they do have an opportunity to own his screen-worn Justin cowboy boots. VIP Fan Auctions is offering the boots to the winning bidder, so click here for photos, size information – and to place your bid today on a piece of Friday Night Lights history. But hurry – the auction ends soon.
Producer/director/actor Peter Berg, who brought Friday Night Lights to television and will direct the big-screen continuation of the series, says he will reprise his role as real estate mogul – and Tami Taylor’s ex-boyfriend – Mo McArnold. Berg told Digital Spy that the character, who appeared in the second-season episode “May the Best Man Win,” will be “madder and richer than ever.” The Berg-directed Battleship, the big-budget action film based on the popular board game, hits theaters May 18. The film also stars FNL alum Taylor Kitsch. Fans of the series still have an opportunity to own a piece of Friday Night Lights by bidding on wardrobe items worn on-screen by the cast. Current auctions include wardrobe items from Kyle Chandler (who plays Coach Taylor), Aimee Teegarden (Julie Taylor), Jesse Plemons (who pays Landry Clarke) and many more! Taylor Kitsch’s mega-budget Mars spectacle John Carter may not have rocked the box office like a Tim Riggins hit rocks opposing quarterbacks, but Friday Night Lights fans don’t have to worry about the breakout star’s burgeoning film career. Kitsch returns to theaters this summer for another major action release – Battleship (pictured above) – in which he re-teams with Friday Night Lights executive producer Peter Berg, who directs the high-seas thriller. After that, Kitsch stars in the Oliver Stone drama Savages, opposite Hollywood heavyweights John Travolta and Benicio Del Toro. In other words, like Johnny Depp, Robin Williams and George Clooney, Kitsch remains on the verge of becoming a major film star, and fans still have an opportunity to own a piece of the show that started it all! A shirt worn on-screen by Kitsch in the series is available now at the Friday Night Lights page at VIP Fan Auctions. You’ll also find screen-worn wardrobe items from other cast members, including Connie Britton (Tami Taylor) and Minka Kelly (Lyla Garrity) and more! Everybody loves a wedding episode, but there was so much turmoil during the Friday Night Lights third-season finale “Tomorrow Blues” that the marriage of Billy and Mindy was just one part of the story. In fact, the biggest moment for fans came during the wedding – and it wasn’t when the groom kissed the bride. The wedding is where Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) learns that he would no longer be coaching the Dillon Panthers. For fans of the series, VIP Fan Auctions has an amazing opportunity to make you feel as if you were on the FNL set when you heard that Wade Aikman was taking over the coach’s job – the site is offering one of the screen-worn cowboy groomsman suits featured in the episode. The suit is the genuine article – and certain to create a stir if you decide to wear it out for a night on the town. “We’re not done with Friday Night Lights,” executive producer Peter Berg told MTV News earlier this month. He explained that the script for a new Friday Night Lights film by FNL executive producer Jason Katims is nearly complete, and Berg (who will direct the film) indicated that one storyline would see Coach Eric Taylor (played by Kyle Chandler) mirror the headline-grabbing story of former Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach.
“[Katims] has come up with a really great storyline that parallels what happened to Mike Leach, one of my heroes, a coach at Texas Tech who was unjustly fired and unjustly accused of mistreating a player with a concussion, which was proven to not have been the case. He’s now at Washington State getting ready for what I think will be a great redemption story,” Berg told MTV. “It would be critical that we get Kyle (Chandler) and Connie (Britton) [onboard for the film] — we anchored the show around them — and then bring in Riggins, Tyra, Lyla and all other characters as we could get them. But the idea is to really revolve it around the coach.”
Leach appeared in a 2009 FNL episode “After the Fall,” in which he delivered a pep talk to Coach Taylor.
As fans eagerly await the FNL film, there are a number of wardrobe items from the series currently available at the Friday night Lights page at VIP Fan Auctions. Each item was worn on-screen – including a robe worn by Kyle Chandler, a sweater worn by Minka Kelly (who played Lyla Garrity), a shirt worn by Connie Britton (who played Tami Taylor). There is also plenty of Dillon Panthers gear available. Check out all of the FNL auctions by clicking here – and place your bid today!
From the very first episode of Friday Night Lights, fans knew the series was going to be special – thanks to stellar writing, a timeless story and a phenomenal cast. One of the many breakout stars from the series is Connie Britton (who played Coach Taylor’s wife, Tami), and VIP Fan Auctions is offering an opportunity to hold on to a piece of her debut. Right now, a complete outfit Britton wore on-screen in the series premiere – including her jeans, tank top, v-neck, purse and necklace – is available to the highest bidder. Popular entertainment news website TheWrap, released its list of the five most fascinating characters on television in 2011. Not surprisingly, Friday Night Lights’ Tami Taylor (played by Connie Britton) ranked third on the list. “The delicate push-pull between Tami and Eric Taylor was always the heart of NBC and DirecTV’s beautiful “Friday Night Lights,” which concluded this year,” said TheWrap. “It came to a head during a tense family dinner in the final episode, as Coach Taylor tried to explain to their daughter why she was too young to marry. As he firmly explained that marriage is about compromise, Tami (Connie Britton) had to leave: The speech belied her husband’s refusal to move for the sake of her career.” Britton currently stars in FX’s American Horror Story, but fans can still hold on to a piece of the actress’ brilliant run as the coach’s wife. Several pieces of her screen-worn jewelry and wardrobe items, including a shirt and skirt outfit worn in the third-season episode “Keeping up Appearances” (pictured above), a sleeveless top worn in the second-season premiere “Last Days of Summer,” a V-neck sweater worn in Season 2’s “Jumping the Gun,” and a scoop-neck sweater worn in the first season’s “Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes.” Check out these and other Friday Night Lights props and wardrobe auctions – while they last – at VIP Fan Auctions.
J.D. McCoy’s (Jeremy Sumpter) Dillon Panthers letterman’s jacket worn on-screen in multiple episodes of Friday Night Lights’ third season is on the auction block at VIP Fan Auctions. The freshman quarterback with the varsity arm created a bit of a stir when he was named the starter, but it was not nearly as big a shake-up as McCoy’s high-powered father would make by getting his son’s personal coach to take over for Eric Taylor at the helm of the Dillon football program – and leading the Taylor’s move to East Dillon. While fans of Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) probably aren’t fans of the McCoy family, any Friday Night Lights fan would love to own this genuine Panthers jacket. Check it out by clicking here, and view other FNL props and wardrobe items at VIP Fan Auctions.
Somebody better tell Julie Taylor or at least tell the coach: Friday Night Lights star Zach Guilford has been spotted getting cozy with singer Taylor Swift – of course, it’s a scene from her new video for the song “Ours.” Guilford, who played Matt Saracen on FNL, portrays Swift’s boyfriend in the video (watch it here). Off-screen, Guilford recently announced his engagement to actress Kiele Sanchez (Lost) – the couple reportedly started dating after filming a pilot in Chicago in 2010. For fans or Guilford or any of the Friday Night Lights cast, check out the locker room full of screen-worn wardrobe items and screen-used props from the series at VIP Fan Auctions.
