Author, screenwriter and iconic comic book scribe Neil Gaiman told a crowded Director’s Guild Theater during New Yorker Fest on Oct. 3, that he is penning an episode of Dr. Who that will feature a number of the series’ classic elements. “Classic Doctor Who episodes are always filmed at some point in a quarry, and I’m incredibly pleased to say they have spent the last week filming in a quarry, in the rain, which is awesome.” The episode will also feature actress Suranne Jones as Idris – a character Gaiman said “may very well be an old acquaintance of the Doctor with a new face,” according to newyorker.com. The episode is slated to air in the spring.
