Dr. Who is coming to America

After nearly five decades of filming Dr. Who (and numerous spin-offs) in the United Kingdom, it appears as though the time traveler will soon be shooting, for the first time, in the United States – at least for a couple of episodes. The BBC reports that the upcoming season of Doctor Who will feature a two-episode arc – in Utah. The 1960s-set plot will reportedly begin shooting in November, beginning in the Utah desert and culminating in a visit to Washington, D.C. “The Doctor has visited every weird and wonderful planet you can imagine, so he was bound get round to America eventually!” says head writer Steven Moffat. “And of course every Doctor Who fan will be jumping up and down and saying he’s been in America before.  But not for real, not on location – and not with a story like this one!  Oh, you wait!”
