FNL BOSS TO REPRISE ROLE

mo

Producer/director/actor Peter Berg, who brought Friday Night Lights to television and will direct the big-screen continuation of the series, says he will reprise his role as real estate mogul – and Tami Taylor’s ex-boyfriend – Mo McArnold. Berg told Digital Spy that the character, who appeared in the second-season episode “May the Best Man Win,” will be “madder and richer than ever.” The Berg-directed Battleship, the big-budget action film based on the popular board game, hits theaters May 18. The film also stars FNL alum Taylor Kitsch. Fans of the series still have an opportunity to own a piece of Friday Night Lights by bidding on wardrobe items worn on-screen by the cast. Current auctions include wardrobe items from Kyle Chandler (who plays Coach Taylor), Aimee Teegarden (Julie Taylor), Jesse Plemons (who pays Landry Clarke) and many more! FNL’S MOST FASCINATING

b

Popular entertainment news website TheWrap, released its list of the five most fascinating characters on television in 2011. Not surprisingly, Friday Night Lights’ Tami Taylor (played by Connie Britton) ranked third on the list. “The delicate push-pull between Tami and Eric Taylor was always the heart of NBC and DirecTV’s beautiful “Friday Night Lights,” which concluded this year,” said TheWrap. “It came to a head during a tense family dinner in the final episode, as Coach Taylor tried to explain to their daughter why she was too young to marry. As he firmly explained that marriage is about compromise, Tami (Connie Britton) had to leave: The speech belied her husband’s refusal to move for the sake of her career.” Britton currently stars in FX’s American Horror Story, but fans can still hold on to a piece of the actress’ brilliant run as the coach’s wife. Several pieces of her screen-worn jewelry and wardrobe items, including a shirt and skirt outfit worn in the third-season episode “Keeping up Appearances” (pictured above), a sleeveless top worn in the second-season premiere “Last Days of Summer,” a V-neck sweater worn in Season 2’s “Jumping the Gun,” and a scoop-neck sweater worn in the first season’s “Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes.” Check out these and other Friday Night Lights props and wardrobe auctions – while they last – at VIP Fan Auctions.

PANTHERS LETTERMAN’S JACKET: REAL McCOY

j

J.D. McCoy’s (Jeremy Sumpter) Dillon Panthers letterman’s jacket worn on-screen in multiple episodes of Friday Night Lights’ third season is on the auction block at VIP Fan Auctions. The freshman quarterback with the varsity arm created a bit of a stir when he was named the starter, but it was not nearly as big a shake-up as McCoy’s high-powered father would make by getting his son’s personal coach to take over for Eric Taylor at the helm of the Dillon football program – and leading the Taylor’s move to East Dillon. While fans of Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) probably aren’t fans of the McCoy family, any Friday Night Lights fan would love to own this genuine Panthers jacket. Check it out by clicking here, and view other FNL props and wardrobe items at VIP Fan Auctions.

SCORE! COACH TAYLOR WINS EMMY

et

Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler, who played Coach Eric Taylor for five exceptional seasons, was (finally) recognized for his work the Emmy for Outstanding lead Actor in a Drama. “I knew for a fact that I would not be standing here, so I did not worry about writing anything and now I’m starting to worry,” he joked. He thanked the cast and crew as well as the people of Austin, Texas, “who welcomed us into their home and filled those stadiums and brought the show to life while we were there.” FNL executive producer Jason Katims also won an Emmy for best writing in the drama category, ending his acceptance speech with “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.” And now you can own a piece of Emmy winner Kyle Chandler’s screen-worn wardrobe items at VIP Fan Auctions, including one of the coach’s polo shirts as well as numerous items worn by other cast members –  check out the selection of Friday Night Lights wardrobe items and place your bid today!

COACH TAYLOR’S GUIDE TO LIFE

kc
In an article titled “Friday Night Lights life lessons: You are going to fail,” Salon.com has compiled a list of life lessons gleaned from the philosophy and teachings of Coach Eric Taylor. Expounding on tips like, “If you’re going to lose, lose honorably” and “Get rid of that pride, boy,” the website chronicles the wisdom of the coach. “Coach Eric Taylor has imparted five years of wisdom, not all of it about football,” the Salon columnist Drew Grant writes. “There is no moral or ethical slip that goes unpunished on Friday Night Lights… And while that could turn another type of show into a real downer, Coach T. is always there to pick you up when you fall … as long as your hubris doesn’t stand in the way.” Don’t let the series end this Friday night without taking home a piece of it – check out the props and wardrobe auctions from the series at VIP Fan Auctions.
