MAD MEN

The crews that Doc (Kevin Spacey) assembles to pull off heists in Baby Driver are stocked with the most menacing men and women in Atlanta. Some are charming, such as Jon Hamm’s “Buddy” – until he’s not – and his beloved Darling (Eiza Gonzalez), who is as beautiful as she is dangerous. Others are pure evil and completely unhinged, such as Bats (Jamie Foxx) – and some are just angry and looking for a fight – enter Griff (Jon Bernthal). VIP Fan Auctions is offering pieces of wardrobe from baby Driver worn by each member of this rogue’s gallery, including Buddy’s Ralph Lauren jacket, shoes and John Varvatos shirt, belt and pants (click here for photos and more info on this ensemble). Also available is Buddy’s London Fog overcoat, suit, shoes and skull mask worn during the opening robbery (pictured above, click here). The red-and-black outfit (with money pants, hoodie, Nikes and more) worn by Bats in Baby Driver is also listed (click here), and so is Griff’s skull mask and heist bag (see above) from the opening sequence (click here). For a more cozy Baby Driver experience, Gonzalez’s robe and matching fuzzy slippers, pajama pants and shirt worn on-screen are also available (click here). Baby Driver Pulls Off Big Stunts

Baby Driver Stunts

More and more today we see increased visual effects in movies to help pull off the biggest stunts. While there is nothing wrong with this – special effects have gotten incredible – there can be a lot of added excitement when we know the stunts are real.

In Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, the entire flick is chock full of real stunt driving, real cars, real locations, and with real people.

It adds a whole new element to this exciting movie. Check out the stunt driving featurette.

You can see for yourself some of the real stunts from the movie, with no rigs, no wires, and no green screen.

You can also see stars from the movie like Ansel Elgort and Jon Hamm practicing stunts on camera.

In addition to Elgort and Hamm, the star-studded cast also features Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Jon Bernthal, and Eliza Gonzalez.

Baby Driver Trailer Released

Baby Driver is making a lot of noise among car fans – some are even calling it the most anticipated car movie of the year.

It’s a promising topic to hit, especially in wake of Fate of the Furious, which had some very impressive numbers at the box office.

Baby Driver is looking promising for several reasons. The fact that Edgar Wright is at the helm already gives the movie a ton of credibility. The trailers have been very compelling; and have generated lots of buzz on tv, social media, etc… The cast is star-studded, and it’s a creative mix of people, including Ansel Elgort, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, and more.

And the whole thing is synced to the soundtrack of Baby’s getaway music.

Baby Driver hits theater on June 28th. Be sure to check out the auctions at www.babydriverauction.com.

MAD MEN’S OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS

Jon Hamm on "Conan"

When “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm, who plays Don Draper on the AMC series, appeared on Conan O’Brien’s new TBS late-night talk show on Nov. 10 (click on “Clips” then “Celebs”), he revealed that Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce is a dangerous place to work.  “I have gone to the hospital twice. The first season, a piece of the set fell on my head … to be fair it was pretty funny,” Hamm told O’Brien, noting that he needed seven stitches to close the wound. In the second season, Hamm broke his hand during rehearsal of a war flashback and then separated his shoulder during shooting. Afterward, during a scene in which Draper promotes Peggy Olson to copywriter, the scene called for actress Elizabeth Moss to shake his hand. “I warned her that my hand was physically broken and remarkably painful,” Hamm recalled, asking the actress snot to squeeze it. “She apparently thought I was kidding and, when we actually shot it, gave me the full-on ‘congratulations’ handshake… I shrieked like a girl, hit my knees – she was mortified – and it was the most painful experience I’ve ever gone through in my life.”

DRAPER SAYS ‘WHAT’?

Say what?

Don Draper (played by Jon Hamm) seems to have a way to express the word “what” to suit any occasion “Mad Men” throws at him. If you don’t believe us, take a look at Draper’s compilation video on YouTube that splices together 46 uses of Draper’s signature exclamation. The description of the video says Draper uses the word “as Van Gogh used color or Beethoven used sound.” Posted Oct. 18, the video has been viewed more than 400,000 times.

WIT AND WISDOM OF A MAD MAN

Sterling's Gold

If you can’t get enough of the all-too-brief seasons of Mad Men, you will soon have a must-read to help get you through the months between. The fictional memoir that advertising kingpin Roger Sterling Jr. penned in the fourth season of the show has found a real publisher! Sterling’s Gold: Wit and Wisdom of an Ad Man is being published by Grove/Atlantic in time for Christmas.

Examples of Sterling’s wit and witticism in the book include:

“You want to be on some people’s minds. Some people’s you don’t.”

“The day you sign a client is the day you start losing them.”

“Being with a client is like being in a marriage. Sometimes you get into it for the wrong reasons and eventually they hit you in the face.”

“When a man gets to a point in his life when his name’s on the building, he can get an unnatural sense of entitlement.”

“Remember, when God closes a door, he opens a dress.”

The book is expected to be released in November, with a cover price of $16.95.
