HOLY $#!% TED!

f

It was one of the greatest brawls in movie history. A knock-down, drag-out fight between a man and his teddy bear, in which Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) reaches into the bedside drawer and flings the fleabag-motel Bible at John (Mark Walberg). Though it looks seriously painful for Wahlberg, the scene gets huge laugh, and now VIP Fan Auctions is giving the winning bidder a chance to own the props – the Bible and the foam stunt Bible – that make this piece of cinematic comedy gold! TED VISITS JIMMY KIMMEL

tedd

Ted, the breakout comedy star of 2012 visited Jimmy Kimmel Live this week to promote the home-video release of his blockbuster film. The superstar bear (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) told the host that he had been fielding other offers – including a role on Game of Thrones (he turned it down because of the dragons) – and that a sequel to Ted is in the works. “We’re basically going to do the same movie, but in Thailand, like The Hangover,” he said. For those of you who have seen Ted (spoiler alert), the bear doesn’t make it through the movie unscathed (see photo above). Perhaps the most poignant point in the film comes as Lori (Mila Kunis) tries desperately to stitch back together her boyfriend’s  (Mark Wahlberg) Thunder Buddy after Ted is literally ripped apart by the demented Donny (Giovanni Ribisi) while scaling the Green Monster at Fenway Park.

The actual screen-used stunt bear (and the sewing kit) featured in the scene (along with a Ted movie poster) is now available to the winning bidder at VIP Fan Auctions – it’s a truly one-of-a-kind opportunity to own a piece of instantly recognizable movie history.

The experience, however, seems to have left Ted a little sensitive.

“The other day I was in a mall, just getting mobbed, and I had to run into a Build-A-Bear just to blend in,” Ted told Kimmel during the appearance.

“Have you ever been in one of those Build-A-Bear places? It’s sick,” Ted added. “Why are you guys Frankensteining bears like Nazi doctors? What kind of species are you that you would do that?”

“That’s human’s for you,” Kimmel said. “You comfort us, and we dismember you.”
