THE RETURN OF SG-1?

According to a report on the SG-1 Facebook page, Darren Thomas, an independent producer, announced April 29 during the Stargate Convention in Vancouver that MGM is “reviving SG-1 albeit in a new format.” According to the site, he added that “plans are underway and I wish I could tell you more. The good news is that we will be unveiling something big at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego.” Gateworld reports that a press release from MGM and Ordino Studios, an application and game production studio in Europe, is expected to announce a new SG-1 project as early as San Diego Comic-Con in July, which is leading many to believe that SG-1 would find a new life in digital form as a game. SG-1 actor Michael Shanks, who played Dr. Daniel Jackson, Tweeted: ” judging from the info i have read today, my ‘GUESS’ is: its most likely an interactive game of some sort. I am NOT involved at this point….” As we all wait eagerly for the next incarnation of the Stargate saga, don’t miss your opportunity to own a piece of the franchise – VIP Fan Auctions is currently offering props, wardrobe and production materials – including a segment of an actual Stargate used on-screen in SGU. SAVING STARGATE UNIVERSE

Fans of Stargate Universe have taken to social media in a desperate attempt to keep their beloved series on the air. In fact, more than 55,000 fans have shown their support on the “Save Stargate Universe” Facebook page. On June 13, Forbes interviewed the movement’s founder, a fan named TheDudeDean, and praised the group for their out-of-the-box thinking, including one Stargate Universe fan who suggested filing suit against the SyFy Channel for false advertising, noting that professional wrestling and cooking are not science fiction programming. Fans have been successful in prolonging the runs of other series, but there has been no word on extending Stargate Universe.
