Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher, who played Susan Mayer-Delfino, shared her thoughts on the recently completed series finale with People magazine. “I feel like [the finale] does a pretty good job at honoring all the different characters and their sort of unique wheelhouses that they brought … to Desperate Housewives,” she told the magazine. “Whether it be comedy or drama or physical comedy, I feel like the stories make sense. I think it will be better than some other big finales.” The actress has already lined up her next job – she’ll appear in four episodes of ABC Family’s Jane By Design as Jane’s (Erica Dasher) mother. Hatcher will also direct an episode. “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to direct,” she says. “So many of the crew and cast of ‘Desperate Housewives’ have been encouraging me to do this for a long time, from Vanessa Williams, James Denton, to the talented camera crew department and producers. According to Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria (who plays Gabrielle Solis), with two episodes left to film, no one knows the fate of the ladies of Wisteria Lane. “It’s crazy,” she told USA Today on April 4. “The writing is coming in by the day…. It looks like the Lynette, Renee, Gaby and Bree are making some changes that can send this Season into a new direction! It’s nice to see that the comedy is coming back to the series and the lovely ladies of Wisteria Lane. What are you looking forward to in the next episode?

The courtroom battle between former Desperate Housewives cast member Nicollette Sheridan (who played Edie Britt from 2004 to 2009) and her former studio bosses has ended without a verdict. After jurors said they were “hopelessly deadlocked,” the judge on Monday declared a mistrial. The jurors reportedly were split 8-4 in favor of the actress – at least nine jurors had to agree to render a definitive verdict. Attorneys for both sides indicated a desire to try the wrongful-termination case again. “You’d think we’d be disappointed, but … we’re not,” Mark Baute, Sheridan’s attorney, told reporters. “We got the story out. We told the truth. Twelve of our fellow citizens made a judgment. We came up one short. We’ll do the dance again.” Early in the trial, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge dismissed Sheridan’s battery complaint against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.
