Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher, who played Susan Mayer-Delfino, shared her thoughts on the recently completed series finale with People magazine. “I feel like [the finale] does a pretty good job at honoring all the different characters and their sort of unique wheelhouses that they brought … to Desperate Housewives,” she told the magazine. “Whether it be comedy or drama or physical comedy, I feel like the stories make sense. I think it will be better than some other big finales.” The actress has already lined up her next job – she’ll appear in four episodes of ABC Family’s Jane By Design as Jane’s (Erica Dasher) mother. BURIED SECRET, HOLLYWOOD TREASURE

Zach Young’s buried toy chest held the secret of Mary Alice’s suicide, explained Paul Young’s suspicious behavior – and held the key to the darkest mystery of Wisteria Lane. Unearthed in the first-season episode “Suspicious Minds” (pictured above), police found the toy chest dumped in a lake – and inside they found the dismembered remains of a woman. Viewers would later learn the identity of the woman is Diedre, the birth mother of Zach, who was killed by Mary Alice during scuffle when she tried to reclaim the boy. That same toy chest featured in the episode – a pivotal moment in Desperate Housewives – is now available at VIP Fan Auctions. THE DARKEST DAY ON WISTERIA LANE

There was something wicked on Wisteria Lane, and it was tied to the mysterious backdrop of Mary Alice Young’s suicide. While all signs pointed to her husband Paul as a murderer during that captivating debut season of Desperate Housewives, viewers would eventually learn that Mary Alice (played by Brenda Strong) had blood on her hands – she killed Diedre, the birth mother of her adopted son, Zach, during a scuffle when the woman attempted to reclaim the boy. Mary Alice and Paul dismembered the body, hid the body in Zach’s toy chest, and buried it – but it would eventually come back to haunt them. It’s also the storyline that launched the series, and one fan now has a unique opportunity to own a pivotal piece of Desperate Housewives history. The toy chest that was used to conceal the killing is now available to the top bidder at VIP Fan Auctions. The prop was most recently featured on-screen in a Season 8 flashback, and you can click here to see photos and details about the unique piece of Desperate Housewives history.
