Vlad III of Wallachia – aka Vlad Dracula – is legendary for his cruelty and brutality. The body count attributed to his rein of terror is 100,000, mostly impaled on wooden stakes, which led to his epithet “Vlad The Impaler” and added to the legend of vampires. As a character on Da Vinci’s Demons and Grand Master of the Order of the Dragon, he battled the Ottomans with a fierce hatred rooted in his youth as a captive of the Ottoman sultan. True to his legend, Vlad (played by Paul Rhys) strikes an imposing presence, and the armor he wore leading his troops against the Turks in the penultimate episode of Da Vinci’s Demons, “Angelus Iratissimus,” in which he was also revealed to be undead. VIP Fan Auctions is now offering Vlad Dracula’s screen-worn battle gear, including his silver-and-gold chest plate, blood-red tunic, black and red cloak, belt, gloves, vambraces and shoes.
