Aretha Franklin’s “Amazing Grace” album, recorded in 1972 with the Southern California Community Choir, marks a seminal moment in the Queen of Soul’s life and the best-selling album of her career. The record was produced by Franklin’s longtime mentor and gospel star Rev. James Cleveland, who not only taught Franklin how to sing and play piano when she was a child, but helped her through one of the darkest periods of her life. Their friendship and the recording of the album was featured in the film Respect, and the colorful outfit Jennifer Hudson wears on-screen (pictured) during a rehearsal for Amazing Grace is now available at VIP Fan Auctions. The shirt and pants combo also includes her belt, earrings and necklace from the movie.
