Gwyneth Paltrow’s tenure as substitute teacher Holly Holliday on Glee struck the right chord with both viewers and Emmy voters. The actress, who appeared on three episodes of Glee last season, received the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series during the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy awards ceremony on Sept. 10. Glee’s casting directors Robert Ulrish and Eric Dawson were also honored with the Emmy for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series. Glee’s Jane Lynch will host the prime-time Emmy Awards on Sept. 16, where fan favorite series Friday Night Lights, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife and Mad Men will vie for television’s top drama.
