LAW & ORDER LEADS TO REAL ARREST
Law & Order is famous for storylines inspired by actual headlines, but this time it’s the series itself that is leading to real arrests. Police in Paterson, N.J., were reportedly alerted to the location of armed burglars who mistakenly broke into the wrong home looking for drugs and, after nearly shooting a child and holding another at gunpoint, stole a cell phone. According to NBC New York, when police approached a suspect, they dialed the phone number and were immediately alerted to its recognizable ringtone – the unmistakable theme from – you guessed it – Law & Order. The man was charged was charged with robbery, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and four counts of aggravated assault. Police are still searching for his accomplice.
