LAW & ORDER TO FACE THE JURY
Actress Rosie Perez (White Men Can’t Jump) has filed a lawsuit against the producers of Law & Order: SVU seeking damages related to a herniated disc she claims to have received while filming the 2009 episode “Hardwired.” The lawsuit reportedly claims that an extra “recklessly pulled, grabbed, yanked, wrenched and/or manhandled” the actress while filming a scene in which she was reaching into a car and attacking its driver. The injury allegedly occurred when an actor playing a crossing guard steps in to stop the assault. “The thing to do was taking someone who knows what he’s doing to make it look violent without being violent,” lawyer Brian O’Dwyer said to the New York Daily News. “This person was not a stunt man, he was just an extra.” O’Dwyer further stated that Perez has required two surgeries, remains in pain and has missed substantial work because of the injury.
