THE HEAD OF THE HORSEMAN

The Headless Horseman has the most legendary absent noggin in all of literature. In the Fox supernatural thriller Sleepy Hollow, we learn that the man who separated the Horseman’s head from his torso is none other than Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison), who is far from the bookish schoolteacher described in the Washington Irving short story. In the third-season finale of Sleepy Hollow, Ichabod returns the skull (pictured) of the legendary Horseman (Jeremy Owens) in exchange for the specter to help him defeat Pandora – but that iconic skull is now being offered to the Sleepy Hollow fan who casts the winning bid at VIP Fan Auctions. Undoubtedly one of the most significant craniums in popular culture for nearly 200 years, the head of the Headless Horseman is crown jewel of the horror genre. GET SOME ‘SLEEPY’

For generations, Ichabod Crane was known as the bookish schoolteacher tormented by the specter of a headless horseman in Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Thank goodness television was able to set the record straight. Thanks to Fox’s Sleepy Hollow, we learn that Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) is actually a soldier – a double-agent for George Washington – who beheaded the legendary horseman, only to awaken more than 200 years later, still facing old foes. Sleepy Hollow was an ambitious premise and an action-packed supernatural series for four seasons until it signed off in May. Now VIP Fan Auctions is offering props and wardrobe from Sleepy Hollow, including Ichabod Crane’s screen-worn coat and shirt worn during the second-season premiere. Click here for photos and more information about this exceptional piece of wardrobe – and place your bid today!
