TRUE GRIT’S BREAKOUT STAR HUNGRY COVETED ROLE
True Grit’s Hailee Steinfeld is hoping to follow-up her amazing performance in the Coen Brothers’ western by landing a lead role in The Hunger Games – one of the most anticipated novel-to-film franchises since Harry Potter. While The Hunger Games director Gary Ross has reportedly not made any casting decisions quite yet, the 14-year-old actress – who more than held her own opposite big-screen heavyweights Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin – is getting a groundswell of fan support. The book is the first in a series by Suzanne Collins, which focuses on teen Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world where a boy and girl are chosen at random to compete in the annual Hunger Games – a televised battle to the death. Nearly 3 million copies of the book are currently in print.
